Notification of Change of GP Practice Name
We have some exiting news.
From 1st February 2021 Dr Johnston and Partners will be changing our name to Hoad Medical Practice. Following the departure of Dr Brockbank at the end of 2020, Dr Johnston and Dr Rath, decided it was time for a fresh image and change of name.
“Hoad Medical Practice aims to provide the highest standard of patient-focused healthcare in a responsive, supportive and courteous manner whilst ensuring that all staff and patients are treated with dignity, honesty and respect”
Over the coming weeks you will notice that when you call the surgery you will hear a different welcome message and our reception team will answer your call under the new name. We will also be changing our website to - www.hoadmedicalpractice.co.uk and our Facebook page will change also – both from the 1st Feb. The telephone number remains the same and all our friendly staff and clinicians are still here to offer you the best of care.
Coronavirus Scam Calls and Texts
UHMB have been made aware of several ongoing spam SMS campaigns seeking to exploit the ongoing UK Coronavirus vaccination efforts. These campaigns variously claim to be from the UK Government, the NHS, Test and Trace, GP surgeries, pharmacies, or from other health organisations like the WHO. Typically, the content of these messages attempts to direct users to phishing sites or connect them to high-cost premium number services, although in some cases the messages contain false or misleading information about the Coronavirus vaccines themselves.
If you or someone you know have received these messages, they should be reported to Action Fraud and forwarded to the free 7726 SMS reporting service. For further guidance on how to identify malicious SMS messages please see the following links from Ofcom and the NCSC.
